Hairline 911: We Must Save Our Edges

OH2 Haircare has been in the lab over the past year, working with some of the leading chemists in the beauty industry. We are extremely proud to have developed a product with the latest peptide technology, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. When I started this product line it was the height of COVID.

As a veteran Hairstylist with over 22 years in the game, I noticed many of my own clients were experiencing extreme hair loss and shedding. My focus has always been to make sure my clients have healthy hair from the roots to the ends, so to truly help I needed to go deeper. I spent 2 years diving into the field of Trichology which is the study of hair loss. I now understand there are so many more factors that contribute to hair loss than I could ever imagine.

You might think hair coloring, styling products, or bad boyfriends will make your hair fall out. All of that can be true but the real underlying factor is stress. Fear, anxiety, and fight or flight in the body will increase cortisol levels resulting in some instances extreme shedding. We have dealt with COVID, inflation, and a volatile election that your body and hair can feel.

My call to all women, we must double down on self care right now! Consider better nutrition, exercise, and device fasting. Seek out a collective community that will love and support you, spend time in nature, and take up a new hobby. All of this will help with alleviating stress. Do not, and I repeat do not let this election or what’s going on in this country take out your hair!  Our edges are fragile and cannot withstand another life altering event.

As your “Hair Coach”, I recommend getting in front of this and not waiting until it’s too late. Once your hair goes into a shedding cycle (Telogen Effluvium), it will be a long road to restore your hair back to its original glory. My recommendation is; eat a whole food diet, take your supplements daily, drink your water, and focus on yourself. As the elders used to say,’This too shall pass”!
